Content Governance for the Common Concern
Of all the principles of content strategy, governance seems to be the one treated most as an afterthought. Strategy firms/agencies don't perform it (typically), large businesses want the technology to do it (automatically), and small businesses don't want to spend any money on it (tragically). I'm part of the first and I don't often work with the second, so I'll address only the third:
Whatever your resources, good content governance is possible.
Differentiation Through Lead Generation
Something a peer of mine said recently got me to thinking about Digett and about what our firm does for our clients—something I've had occasion to think about in the past, thanks to misconceptions about Digett's purpose. Because ongoing relevance in the marketplace requires changes in strategy and tactics, we have navigated our share of such adjustments. Now that Digett is getting ready to enter our tenth year of business, our objectives for creating value for our clients have become more clear than ever.
Choosing the Right Tool for the Job
Choosing the right tool for a project can sometimes be easy. For example, when driving a nail, the obvious choice would be a hammer, or when splitting some wood, a saw would be the best tool in the box. Sometimes we know the tools we need but don't have them at our disposal, like the time my father-in-law asked me to help him paint a room. What he failed to mention was he only had two small four-inch brushes—not a great choice for such a big project.
Kill Your News Section and Keep it Personal
As a bit of an old-fashioned scribbler, it almost pains me to write this post. But recent newsworthy events here at Digett and the ongoing effort to improve our content strategy and publishing have led me to the inescapable conclusion that for most businesses, the News Section is boring and harms organizational goals. It's time to kill it.
Digett Adds A Senior Web Developer
Award-winning artist. Web design and development guru. Snazzy dresser.
All these things describe Alex Garcia, Digett's new Senior Web Developer. That last one is for internal consideration only.
Alex brings 10 years of experience in graphic design and Web application development to the Digett team, so we're pleased as punch to have him here. Just give us a little bit of time to add him to the famous Digett staff section.
